BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Junior Brooke Vinovich joined Union College's 1,000 career kills club at home in Friday's 3-0 victory over Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Bluefield (Va.) College. Vinovich's 11 kills gives her 1,010 for her career.

Vinovich, a Somerset, Ky. native, joins a pair of seniors, Stephanie Pateman (Weyburn, Canada) and Marlee Cooper (Bloomington, Ill.), with at least 1,000 kills. Her current total is at Pateman and Cooper both past the 1,500 kill plateau earlier in the season.

Vinovich recorded 286 kills her freshman season before adding 475 as a sophomore. So far during her junior season, she ranks second on the team with 249. She also has 13 matches with a double-digit kill total. Vinovich added a pair of aces in the victory.

The first set went to Union, 25-10. The next two both went to the Lady Bulldogs with similar 25-19 scores.

Pateman led all players with 12 kills in the contest. Monica Moreland (Louisville, Ky.) recorded 35 assists while Christina Prindle (Florence, Ky.) was credited with 10 digs.
