ROME, Ga. - A Union College freshman ran to another personal best Saturday at the Southeast Cross Country Classic in Rome, Ga.

Bethany Bowlin (Barbourville, Ky.) beat her personal best by two seconds with a run of 23 minutes and 13.65 seconds for a 90th-place finish in the women's five-kilometer race.

Kasey Powell (Mt. Vernon, Ky.) crossed the line in 34:49.44.

On the men's side, Brennan O'Quinn (Meadowview, Va.) finished 95th behind his 29:15.02 performance on the men's eight-kilometer course.

Justyna Mudy, from Shorter (Ga.) College, won the women's race behind a 17:58.16 run. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College's David Mutuse captured the men's title after a run of 25:22.81.

Union's next race is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships on November 8 at the Sycamore Shoals State Park in Elizabethton, Tenn.
