
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College's Renata Peixoto was named a NAIA Women's Soccer Honorable Mention All-American, the organization announced Sunday.
Peixoto, a sophomore midfielder from Brasilia, Brazil was the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year to go along with her AAC Offensive Player of the Year award and All-AAC team selection.
She broke the Union single-season assist record with 27 in 2008. The total ranks third in NAIA history as well. Peixoto also recorded 15 goals. She had eight matches with a goal and assist. In seven conference contest she totaled three goals with 10 assists. The five assists against Bluefield (Va.) College put her in a tie for the fifth-most assists in a match in NAIA history. She also moved up to sixth on Union's all-time assists list with 31 through two seasons. Her 71 career points are 11th in school history.
Peixoto is the ninth player in program history to be a NAIA All-American. The last Lady Bulldog on the squad was in 2007 when Heather Jaques (Manitoba, Canada) was an honorable mention as well. In all, Union has a total of 19 NAIA All-American awards in the last 10 seasons.
Along with the on-the field accolades, Peixoto was an Academic All-AAC team member.
Union finished the season with a 14-5 record which the 14 wins are tied for fourth most in program history.
