
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College starts a streak of 14 straight Appalachian Athletic Conference games with a 7:30 p.m. contest Wednesday when No. 18 Bluefield (Va.) College visits Robsion Arena.
The Bulldogs enter the game in a three-way tie for second in the conference with a 3-1 record. Union's overall record is at 7-7. Bluefield is atop the standings at 4-0 with an overall record of 10-5.
The last time Union took to the court, the Bulldogs knocked off No. 5 Rio Grande, 83-75, on Dec. 31. Beau Brown (Athens, Tenn.) scored 18 points in the win. Union traveled to Louisiana Monroe for an exhibition game Saturday.
Union looks to snap a five-game losing streak to Bluefield. During the streak, Bluefield has scored at least 91 points in all five games with four over 100 points. Union has averaged 80.2 points per game against Bluefield during the losing streak. The last Bulldog victory over Bluefield came at home in the 2005-06 season, a 92-80 win.
Brown leads the team with 13.3 points per game. James Johnson (Lexington, Ky.) owns the team lead in the rebounding category with 5.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore Michael Hester (Independence, Ky.) has been dishing out 4.9 assists per game while recording 2.1 steals per game.
