KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the first time since the 2005-06 season, Union College received a vote in this week's NAIA Men's Basketball Division II National Poll, the organization announced Monday.

Union garnered one vote to be placed in a five-way tie in 41st. Joining Union in 41st are Johnson & Wales (Colo.) University, Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University, Davenport (Mich.) University and Indiana University East.

The Bulldogs own an overall record of 10-8 with a 6-2 Appalachian Athletic Conference record. Union currently sets in a second-place tie along with King (Tenn.) College in the conference standings.

Next on Union's schedule is a trip to King Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. contest. Union and King sit two games behind Bluefield (Va.) College in the standings.

In all, the AAC had three teams receiving votes this week. Bluefield remained at No. 12 while King moved to No. 27. Bluefield collected 274 points, four away from No. 11 Black Hills State (N.D.) University. King needed six more points to crack the Top-25.

Bethel (Ind.) College took the No. 1 spot in the poll for the first time this season after the Pilots flew in second the previous five polls. Bethel secured 13 of the 15 first-place votes behind a 20-1 record. Oklahoma Wesleyan University moved up to N. 2 and received the other two first-place votes.

Cedarville (Ohio) University went from fifth up to third. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical (Fla.) University and Bellevue (Neb.) University are fourth and fifth, respectively.

Oregon Tech, the previous No. 1 team for the last six polls, suffered a pair of losses which sent the squad to No. 7.
