
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College is seeking to get back on the winning track Wednesday as the Lady Bulldogs play host to Virginia Intermont College in Appalachian Athletic Conference action.

Union (16-8 overall) suffered a 78-43 defeat at Milligan (Tenn.) College Saturday, dropping it into a tie for second in the AAC with Tennessee Wesleyan College at 8-4. Milligan sits atop the standings at 9-3 in conference play.
Virginia Intermont is tied for seventh at 5-7 in league play while being 6-17 overall.
Union College had its worst shooting performance of the season Saturday as the Lady Bulldogs saw their five-game win streak come to an end with a 78-43 loss at Milligan.
Shooting just 25 percent (8-of-32 shots) in the first half, Union found itself down 34-22 at the half. Things did not improve for the Lady Bulldogs in the second half as they made just 6-of-29 shots (20.7 percent) en route to the 78-43 defeat.
Union finished the game shooting 23 percent (14-of-61 shots) from the field and 22.7 percent (5-of-22 shots) from 3-point range.
Junior Brooke Smith (Pineville, Ky.) paced Union with 16 points and seven rebounds. No other Lady Bulldogs scored more than six points.
Smith is 22 points away from becoming the first player in program history to score 500 points in a season three times.
Virginia Intermont has lost its last two games, dropping a 78-64 contest to Tennessee Wesleyan and a 64-56 decision to King (Tenn.) College.
Nicole Collins leads the Lady Cobras in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
