KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College took a few steps closer to re-entering the Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll as the Lady Bulldogs sit 31st, the NAIA announced Monday.

Despite going 1-1 last week, Union garnered 29 votes this week to move up to No. 31. The Lady Bulldogs (19-9 overall, 11-5 Appalachian Athletic Conference) collected 28 more votes than last week and jumped six spots. Union is still 52 points behind No. 25 Aquinas (Mich.).

Davenport (Mich.), Ozarks (Mo.) and Black Hills State (S.D.) each moved up a spot in the NAIA Top 25 Poll and moved behind No. 1 Morningside (Iowa) and No. 2 Shawnee State (Ohio).

Davenport ranked No. 3 with 378 points ahead of No. 4 Ozarks (359 points) and No. 5 Black Hills State (349 points.).Top-ranked Morningside received all 15 first place votes and 405 points while Shawnee State earned all 15 second place votes and 392 points. Both teams still remain undefeated on the season with 28-0 and 27-0 records respectively.

Northwestern (Iowa) dropped three spots to No. 6 with 344 points after losing to Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) last week.  Sterling (Kan.) held its spot at No. 7 for the third straight week with 331 points. No. 8 Concordia (Ore.) (306 points), No. 9 Concordia (Neb.) (294 points) and No. 10 Cornerstone (Mich.) (286 points) rounded out the top-10.

Walsh (Ohio) made its debut in the top-25 at No. 23.

The 10th and the final regular season poll will be released on Monday, February 23.

Union returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Montreat (N.C.) College. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
