JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Union College's Johnnie Nabors moved into the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship 60-meter dash championship Friday.

Nabors (Lawrenceville, Ga.) needed to rally to post the fourth-quickest semifinal time of 6.81 seconds which was second in the heat. His prelim time, 6.92 seconds, ranked 11th. Kenar Hyman, from King (Tenn.) College improved on his prelim time of 6.77 seconds to run 6.71 in the semifinals.

Since he has qualified for the finals Nabors will be a three-time All-American in the 60 meters. The last two seasons he finished third. Saturday's final is scheduled for 1:25 p.m.

Also competing was Andre Thornton (Loganville, Ga.) as he finished 11th in the 400 meters. He covered the distance in 49.30 seconds.
