ST. PETERS, Mo. - Union College broke seven more records Friday at the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championship. Union added two Top-10 finishes as well during the day.

Tamsin Petersen (Johannesburg, South Africa) finished ninth in the 100-yard butterfly after covering the distance in a program-record 58.51 seconds.

In the final event, the men's 400 medley relay squad qualified ninth and finished ninth in the finals. Union's time of 3:37.50 lowered the school record by seven seconds.

The day started with the Lady Bulldogs' 200 freestyle relay team posting a school-record swim of one minute and 45.30 seconds in the prelims. Later in the finals Union finished 15th with a time of 1:45.79.

The men's 200 freestyle relay team added a 12th-place swim thanks to a 1:29.73 swim which lowered the program record.

The women's 400 medley relay team added a 12th-place swim with a 4:16.20 swim. The time was nine seconds better than the qualifying mark.

Molly Fittro (Seaside, Calif.) qualified for the 200 freestyle finals with a Union-record 1:57.63 swim and finished 15th after a 1:59.24 performance.

Michael Viscardi (Marietta, Ga.) lowered the program record to 59.59 seconds in the 100 breaststroke, however his finals time was slower which led to a 16th-place finish.

The Bulldogs rank 12th with 52 points which is six more than Notre Dame (Ohio) College. However Union trails Biola (Calif.) University by 42 points entering the final day. Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) owns the team lead with 494 points.

On the women's side, Union stands 10th thanks to 51 points. The Lady Bulldogs once again follow Biola by a similar 42-point margin. Union owns a six point lead over Milligan (Tenn.) College. California Baptist University owns a commanding lead with 496 points. Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University trails by 180 points.

The final day of action starts with preliminary events at 11 a.m. followed by finals at 7 p.m.
