
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College senior Carrie Bistline has been named a 2009 Division II Women's Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, the NAIA announced Monday.
The honor is the second for Bistline (Frankfort, Ky.), who received the honor in 2008 as a junior.
Bistline played in all 31 games for the Lady Bulldogs, averaging 3.10 points and 1.81 rebounds per game. She also blocked 12 shots, which ranked her second on the team.
For her career, Bistline scored 692 points and grabbed 323 rebounds.
In all, there were 204 student-athletes to receive the honor. Student-athletes must be nominated by their head coach, have achieved junior academic status and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Union posted a 20-11 overall record during the 2008-09 season, marking the second 20-win season in a row for the Lady Bulldogs.
