
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College junior Brett Miller was named to the 2008-09 NAIA Division I & II Men's Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete team, the organization announced Monday.
Miller is a Carrolton, Ky. native and he is the first Union player to make the squad since Joe Bramlage was a 2005-06 honoree.
This season Miller started in 22 games and averaged 7.4 points per game. He led the team with 5.0 rebounds per contest.
Miller was also an Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Academic recipient.
Between the Division I and II ranks, 198 players were honored.
To be named to the team a player must be a junior or above in academic standing, in attendance at the institution for one full year and a minimum grade point average of 3.50.
Union finished the 2008-09 campaign with an even 15-15 record with a 10-8 conference record.
