
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College once again was placed 22nd in the fourth edition of the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll released Tuesday by the organization. Union is 22nd for the third straight poll.
The Lady Bulldogs' record stands at 9-1 overall which includes a perfect 4-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference record. Union received 94 points in the poll, 11 behind No. 21 Westmont (Calif.) College. Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University jumped into the Top 25 in this poll behind Union at No. 23 thanks to 88 points.
Auburn (Ala.) University Montgomery collected 11 first-place votes and 312 points to hold onto No. 1 once again. Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University garnered the other first-place vote and 302 points. Berry (Ga.) College remained third. Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University and Savannah (Ga.) College of Art and Design both moved up a spot with Azusa Pacific fourth and SCAD fifth.
Union starts a four-day stretch with a match each day in Georgia.
First for the Bulldogs is a conference tilt at Covenant (Ga.) College Wednesday at 3 p.m. A Union win would clinch a share of the AAC regular-season championship.
The Bulldogs continues the trip Thursday at No. 17 Shorter (Ga.) College. Friday's contest for Union is against No. 16 Xavier (La.) University and the trip concludes with a Saturday meeting with No. 11 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College. Both the Xavier and Lindsey Wilson matches will be contested in Rome, Ga.
