DAYTON, Tenn. - No. 5 Union College stretched its winning streak to 11 games with an 18-14 Appalachian Athletic Conference victory over host Bryan (Tenn.) College Wednesday.

The win improved Union's overall record to 31-5 and conference mark to 15-2. Bryan dropped to 4-35 overall and 0-17 in the AAC.

The Bulldogs belted a season-high six home runs, and Kenny Kysar (Corbin, Ky.) became the program's all-time steals leader. The senior center fielder swiped two bases to give him 112 for his career, surpassing Tim Galbraith's mark of 111.

Union posted four runs in the first, while Bryan scored a run in the bottom of the frame to make it 4-1. The Bulldogs then scored two in the second and one in third before posting two runs in each the fourth, fifth and sixth innings for a 13-1 advantage.

The Lions fought back, scoring four in the seventh and six the eighth to pull within 13-10.

The Bulldog offense cranked up again, scoring five in the ninth, but Bryan made things interesting with a three-run rally in its half of the inning. However, it was too little, too late as Union held on for the 18-14 decision.

Adam Snyder (Knoxville, Tenn.) went 6 2/3 innings in picking up the victory, improving to 3-1 on the year. Chaz Bargo (Artemus, Ky.) collected the save, giving him 15 for his career to tie Greg Bruce for the program record.

Offensively, Lioney Henriquez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Chris Daniels (Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) each belted two home runs. Henriquez went 3-for-6 with three runs and three RBIs, while Daniels was 2-for-5. Josh Ehringer (Somerset, Ky.) and Troy Sitton (Cobden, Ill.) both went 2-for-4 with a home run as Ehringer drove in four and Sitton three.

Joe Grinstead (Bowling Green, Ky.) helped out with a 2-for-4, two-RBI performance while scoring three runs. Brandon Hedrick (Corbin, Ky.) also had a hit, extending his team-best hitting streak to 16 games.

Union returns to action Friday and Saturday when it visits Montreat (N.C.) College in conference play.
