BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - No. 10 Union College secured a perfect Appalachian Athletic Conference season Thursday thanks to a 9-0 home victory over Milligan (Tenn.) College. The win also improved the Bulldogs' record to 14-0 marking the best start in the modern era.

The 2006 Bulldogs started the season 13-0 before finishing the season at 19-3. Union wrapped up the AAC season with a 6-0 mark. Over the last four seasons Union has built a 23-1 conference record with three straight AAC regular season championships. The Bulldogs have not lost to a conference foe since the 2006 AAC Tournament championship match.

Milligan went to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Juan Lorenzo (Barcelona, Spain) improved to 13-0 this season thanks to his No. 4 singles' victory over Matt Clark. Renardy Guelfi (Curitiba, Brazil) secured the match when he won in No. 2 singles 6-0 and 6-0.

The three doubles victories boosted Union's record to 36-3 this season. The Bulldogs only lost one set in the three contests Thursday.

Union wraps up the 2009 season Tuesday when University of the Cumberlands visits for a 3 p.m. match. The Bulldogs opened this season with an 8-1 victory at the Cumberlands Feb. 25.
