BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Whitley Dierig recently signed to continue her swimming career with Union College.

Dierig attends Highlands High School and swam for the Fort Thomas Swim Club. She was coached by Nancy Barre and Nathan Clinkenbeard.

She comes to Union as a freestyle swimmer in the middle distances.

"Whitley will provide versatility to our meet line up and I am happy to have her joining our program," Union head coach Rafael Forti said. "She works hard and has shown improvements on her times this past high school season."

Union finished the 2009 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships in 12th place after a fourth-place finish at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship.
