
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - No. 9 Union College swept past King (Tenn.) College 6-0 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference semifinal contest Friday to advance to the AAC Tournament championship Saturday.
The top-seeded Bulldogs will now play No. 2 seed Tennessee Wesleyan College Saturday and the winner earns an automatic bid to the 2009 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship. When the two met in Athens, Tenn., Union walked away with a 9-0 victory on March 20.
The win boosted Union's record to 15-0 overall while King's season comes to an end at 5-8.
The sweep was the third in a row for Union and the ninth of the season.
Earlier in the day King defeated Milligan (Tenn.) College 5-1 to advance to the semifinals.
