KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College will open the 2009 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship with a contest against Ohio Dominican University Tuesday in Mobile, Ala.

Union enters the tournament with a No. 10 national ranking the association released last Sunday.

The Bulldogs posted a perfect 16-0 record in the regular season, only one of two teams in the Top 25 with an undefeated record. Union captured the Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships this season.

Last year Union won in the opening round of the NAIA National Championship before losing in the Round of 16.

Ohio Dominican went 12-8 en route to winning the American Mideast Conference crown. The national birth is the first for Ohio Dominican.

The winner moves on to play No. 7 Savannah College of Art and Design Wednesday.

The other seven quarterfinal contests are scheduled for Wednesday as well followed by semifinals Thursday. The 2009 national champion will be crowned Friday.

The championship will be contested at the Mobile Tennis Center for the sixth straight year.
