KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After advancing to the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament championship game, Union College remained the 14th-ranked team in the NAIA, the national organization announced Friday.

Union (43-10 overall) garnered 376 total points, 22 more than No. 15 Lindenwood (Mo.) University and 24 fewer than No. 13 Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University.

The final 2009 NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll has Lubbock Christian (Tex.) finishing the season ranked No. 1. The Chaparrals hold onto the top spot for the seventh consecutive week after receiving 22 first-place votes and 653 total points. Lubbock Christian is now 44-6 on the season and won the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season title.

Coming in at No. 2 are the Stars of Oklahoma City who collect 631 total points. Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) is ranked third with one first-place vote and 605 total points. Checking in at No. 4 is Berry (Ga.) after receiving 586 total points. Rounding out the Top 5 is Southern Polytechnic State. The Hornets earn 551 total points.

The pairings for the opening round of the NAIA World Series will be announced later today.
