BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College's road back the Avista-NAIA World Series will begin in Daytona Beach, Fla., as the Bulldogs are the No. 2 seed in the Field No. 4 of the 2009 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round, the NAIA announced Friday.

The Bulldogs (43-10 overall) will battle with four other schools for a berth to the 2009 Avista-NAIA World Series, which will once again be held in Lewiston, Idaho.

Host Embry-Riddle Aeronautical (Fla.) University is the No. 1 seed, while Warner (Fla.) University is seeded third. Auburn University Montgomery (Ala.) is the fourth seed with Union (Tenn.) University the fifth seed.

The tournament will begin Tuesday with Auburn Montgomery taking on Union (Tenn.). Afterwards, Union (Ky.) will face Warner, and the day will conclude with Embry-Riddle playing the Auburn Montgomery/Union (Tenn.) winner.

Game times have not been determined yet.

The double-elimination tournament will continue on Wednesday with the championship game set for Thursday. If the loser of Thursday's game only has one loss, then a second and final championship game will be played Friday.
