HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – The Union College men’s golf team and their first-round 300 on Monday has the Bulldogs in the lead at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Tournament hosted by Montreat (N.C.) College.

Union’s lead is a slim one, with three other teams within seven shots of first. Behind the Bulldogs is Tennessee Wesleyan College after a first-round 301. Covenant (Ga.) College is five out of the lead with UVa.-Wise in fourth with an opening round 307.

Craig Hinton (Thame Oxon, England) fired a three-under-par 69 for Union. The Bulldogs also watched as Sam Lee (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Adam LaTulippe (Hamilton, Ohio) carded rounds of 74 and 77, respectively.

The tournament concludes on Tuesday at the Crooked Creek Golf Course.
