BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College has added Ryle High School's Caitlin Scheidt to the women's swimming squad for the 2009-10 campaign.

Scheidt is a Florence, Ky. native and she has been swimming for the last 10 years.

"I am happy to have Caitlin joining our program," Union head coach Rafael Forti commented. "She will add depth to our sprint events as well as relay teams."

Union finished the 2009 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships in 12th place after a fourth-place finish at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship.

"Caitlin brings in many years of swimming experience mainly on backstroke, medley and breaststroke events," Forti added.

Along with swimming, Scheidt was a member of the National Honor Society, German Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America.
