BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Lucas Oliveira became the latest signee for new Union College tennis coach Daniel Finn.
Oliveira was ranked as high as No. 5 in Brazil's 18-year-old age group. He is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
"Lucas is another major addition to what I consider a pretty strong recruiting class," Finn said. "Lucas will definitely be an impact player for us right away."
Union finished the 2009 campaign with a 17-1 record after reaching the round of 16 at the NAIA National Championship for the third straight season. The 17 wins to start the season mark a program record for consecutive wins. Union also won the Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships.
