BANNER ELK, N.C. - Union College's Zach Winn rode to the front of a talented field at the short track event over the weekend at Lees McRae (N.C.) College.

Winn, a Port Hope, Canada, native, took the top spot avenging a second-place finish on the same track at the 2008 NCCA National Championship. He also took second in the cross country race.

Wes Lamberson (Limestone, Tenn.) was fifth in cross country after a Top-10 ride in short track.

Rachel Millsop (Springdale, Ark.) had Top-5 finishes in both the short track and cross country events. She was also eighth in dual slalom.

German Bermudez (Louisville, Ky.) and Brad Nelson (Carmel, Ind.) both were in the Top-15 of the short track standings. Bermudez added a sixth-place ride in cross country while Nelson was tenth. Nelson also rode into eighth in dual slalom.

Jonathan Turner (Harlan, Ky.) provided a 16th-place ride in the expert cross country race while Zac Moore (Loveland, Ohio) and Sean Trinque (Pascoag, R.I.) finished second and third, respectively in the "B" cross country heat.

Union will return to the mountains of North Carolina for this weekend's scheduled event at Appalachian State University.
