BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College extended a winning streak to eight matches and six sweeps in a row after beating the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) 3-0 Saturday.

The win sent the Lady Bulldogs to 15-3 overall. Union also pushed a wining streak inside Robsion Arena to 18 matches which dates back to 2008.

Union won the first and final sets with scores of 25-15 while the second set went to Union 25-21.

Meg Donnelly (Middletown, Ohio) recorded a team-high eight kills. Monica Moreland (Louisville, Ky.) provided 34 assists with a pair of aces and 15 digs.

Maddie Peterson (Soda Springs, Idaho) and Brooke Vinovich (Somerset, Ky.) was credited with seven kills apiece. Peterson added 16 digs.

Union returns to Appalachian Athletic Conference play Tuesday with a trip to Tennessee Wesleyan College. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Lady Bulldog Notes

  • Union has a 5-1 record against the Cumberlands since the start of the 2007 season.
  • The victory was the 325th in program history for Union.
