CLEMSON, S.C. - Union College ended the regular season over the weekend at the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Championship at Clemson (S.C.) University with numerous Top-10 rides from the Bulldogs.

Zach Winn (Port Hope, Canada) rode to the front of the cross country event to capture the win over defending national champion Tristan Cowie, from Brevard (N.C.) College. Winn also added a second-place ride in short track and a fifth in the dual slalom.

On the women's side, Rachel Millsop (Springdale, Ark.) won the cross country race. She then finished fourth in both the short track and dual slalom.

Greg Gibson (Provo, Utah) had three Top-15 performances, with the best being a seventh in cross country. Gibson added an eighth in short track and qualified for the round of 16 in dual slalom.

Brad Nelson (Carmel, Ind.) posted a sixth-place time in dual slalom and then was seventh in the downhill. Wes Lamberson (Limestone, Tenn.) finished seventh in short track with a Top-15 dual slalom effort. German Bermudez (Louisville, Ky.) rode to fifth in cross country.

Union head coach Chuck Coffey commented on how the SECCC Championship had a national championship feel. At least five national champions were at the races. He also added that the championship might have been the toughest conference meet he has been a part of.

Union will have to wait to see what the SECCC standings say. The Bulldogs will look for a repeat trip to the NCCA National Championships which are in Reno, Nev., Oct. 16-18.
