WISE, Va. - Union College made it 10 straight wins with a 3-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference sweep at UVa-Wise Friday.

Union improved to 17-3 and 9-1 in league play. The conference victory was also the 100th as a member of the AAC for the Lady Bulldogs as a member for the last eight years. UVa-Wise went to 5-15 and 2-9 in the AAC.

The set scores were 25-16, 25-15 and 25-15.

Autumn Combs (Florence, Ky.) led the offense with 10 kills and along with four blocks. Brooke Vinovich (Somerset, Ky.) added nine kills.

Monica Moreland (Louisville, Ky.) had a double-double with 34 assists and 10 digs.

Amanda Silva (Londrina, Brazil) provided 16 digs while Sarah Alderson (Birmingham, Ala.) served four aces to tie her career best.

Union travels to Bluefield (Va.) College for another AAC contest Saturday at 1 p.m.

Lady Bulldog Notes

  • Union has won seven in a row against UVa-Wise in regular season play.
  • Alderson only served six aces coming into Friday's contest.
  • The sweep was the eighth straight for Union and the Lady Bulldogs have won 21 straight sets against UVa-Wise in regular-season matches.
  • Union has a 100-42 record in the eighth season of AAC play.
