
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College used a first-half goal from Brett Smith for a 1-0 win over Georgetown (Ky.) College Saturday.
Smith (Berea, Ky.) found the ball in front of the goal after a Bulldog shot in the 38th minute for the eventual game winner. Smith's score was the fourth of the season and his second game winner.
The win improved Union's record to 7-3 while Georgetown dropped to 5-2-1.
Jonathan Shaw (Merseyside, England) posted his fourth shutout of the season thanks to five saves.
Union had a total of 13 shots in the contest while Georgetown tried 12.
Next on the schedule for the Bulldogs is a trip to play Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Montreat (N.C.) College Wednesday at 4 p.m.
