
BLUEFIELD, Va. - A 5-0 victory for Union College at Bluefield (Va.) College helped the Lady Bulldogs to move to 5-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference on Saturday.
The win sent Union's overall record to 11-2 including the 5-0 league record. The Lady Bulldogs will host Tennessee Wesleyan College Monday for an important conference meeting. A win would clinch the AAC regular season title for Union, the first since 2003.
Freshman Jenn Sckirl (Edmonton, Canada) scored Union's third and fourth goals of the match and she provided assists for the first two.
Ashley Hall (Hazard, Ky.) struck in the 14th minute for the eventual game winner while Stephanie Cagle (Independence, Ky.) scored the second goal of the match.
Hannah Goins (Corbin, Ky.) took a pass from Renata Peixoto (Brasilia, Brazil) and scored in the 82nd minute to make the final score 5-0.
Patricia Nardy (Sao Paulo, Brazil) notched the shutout and she recorded three saves.
Bluefield went to 2-11-2 with a 1-3-1 AAC record.
