BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Junior Monica Moreland earned the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player and Setter of the Week awards Monday after helping Union College to a pair of 3-0 sweeps last week.

This marks the third time the Louisville, Ky. native was named the AAC Player of the Week, and the fifth time she received the AAC Setter of the Week honor.

The Lady Bulldogs (20-3 overall, 11-1 AAC) defeated Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College 3-0 in non-conference and league rival Virginia Intermont College 3-0 last week, extending their win streak to 13 matches.

Moreland tallied 66 assists, 12 digs, five service aces, three kills and two total blocks in the two matches last week. Moreland has recorded 30 or more assists in her last six matches played.

Union returns to action Tuesday when it plays host to Bryan (Tenn.) College at 7 p.m. in a key conference battle.
