MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. - Union College notched its 10th Appalachian Athletic Conference victory in a row with a 3-0 sweep of host Milligan (Tenn.) College Thursday, extending the Lady Bulldogs' win streak to 15 matches.

The Lady Bulldogs cruised to the 25-20, 25-19, 25-22 win, upping their overall record to 22-3 and league mark to 13-1.

Milligan dropped to 14-12 overall and 8-4 in the AAC.

Amanda Silva (Londrina, Brazil) recorded her third 30-dig performance of the season as she recorded 32. Monica Moreland (Louisville, Ky.) posted her 13th double-double of the season with 43 assists and 10 digs.

Helping on the offensive were Brooke Vinovich (Somerset, Ky.) and Amelia Cantrell (Georgetown, Ky.), both of whom drove home 10 kills. Maddie Peterson (Soda Springs, Idaho) chipped in nine kills, while Autumn Combs (Florence, Ky.) and Meg Donnelly (Middletown, Ohio) each had eight. Donnelly also had nine digs.

Christina Prindle (Florence, Ky.) led the Lady Bulldogs with four service aces.

Union returns to action Oct. 28 when it plays host to King (Tenn.) College at 6:30 p.m.

Lady Bulldog Notes

  • The 3-0 win was the 12th sweep for Union in the last 13 matches.
  • Monica Moreland has recorded 30 or more assists in 10 straight matches now.
  • Union is now 11-5 all-time versus Milligan. The Lady Bulldogs have won the last six matches in the series. The Lady Buffaloes last won over Union on Nov. 2, 2006, in Barbourville.
  • Autumn Combs had two blocks in the win, giving her 683 for her career.
