ATHENS, Tenn. - Senior Brooke Smith poured in a season-high 32 points as Union College defeated Emmanuel (Ga.) College 65-63 at the Tennessee Wesleyan College Classic Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 2-2 on the year following the win, while the Lady Lions fell to 2-1 overall.

Smith (Pineville, Ky.) hit 11-of-18 shots from the field and 8-of-10 from the foul line to lead all scorers with 32 points.

Carley Blankenship (Lexington, Ky.) had just seven points but grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

Union led 36-35 at the half before narrowly outscoring Emmanuel 29-28 in the second half en route to the two-point victory.

Ashontti Lewis posted a double-double for Emmanuel with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Ashley Jackson chipped in 15 points and nine rebounds.

Union will face Morris (S.C.) College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
