FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Union College men's bowling team posted a 36th-place finish at the National Collegiate Team Match Games over the weekend.
The Bulldogs recorded a total pin fall of 8.752 to land 36th in a field of 40 teams. Wichita State (Kan.) won the two-day event with a score of 11,513, while Lindenwood (Mo.) tallied a score of 11,194 to come in second. Newman (Kan.) was third at 10,868.
Jesse Beal (Dayton, Ohio) placed 31st individual out of 268 bowlers with a total pin fall of 1,130 for an average of 188.3.
Meanwhile, Chad Ferguson (Louisville, Ky.) helped out with a 178.5 average, while Jordan Rummel (Athens, Tenn.) posted a 171.5 average. Cody Proffitt (Pigeon Forge, Tenn.) and Rueben Shanks (Front Royal, Va.) averaged 147.8 and 140.6, respectively.
Union returns to action on Feb. 20-21 at the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.
