HENDERSON, Tenn. - No. 16 Union suffered back-to-back losses Saturday, dropping a 9-5 decision to McKendree (Ill.) and a 10-0, five-inning defeat to host Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).
The losses put Union at 4-4 on the season.
Union fell behind early to McKendree as the Bearcats jumped out to a 7-0 lead. The Bulldogs tried to rally but came up on the short end of the 9-5 ledger.
The 10-0 defeat to the Lions was the second shutout loss for the Bulldogs this season. It also marks the second time this year Union lost back-to-back games. The Bulldogs only suffered back-to-back losses once in each of the last two season.
Union will face Freed-Hardeman Sunday at 2 p.m. ET in a nine-inning contest.
