BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union College men’s soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat after the visitors from Milligan (Tenn.) College scored a pair of goals in each half in an Appalachian Athletic Conference contest Wednesday.

After the match, Union moves to 7-6-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the conference. Milligan now holds a 3-2-1 conference mark with an overall record of 8-5-1.

The first two goals for the Buffaloes came from Josh Stevens in the 20th and 25th minutes while Kofi Frimpong and Tyler Ross scored in the 72nd and 82nd minutes, respectively.

Union attempted 11 shots, four on goal, but Milligan took 16 shots, eight on goal. Senior Eric Ashcraft (Corinth, Ky.) stopped five shots in goal for the Bulldogs. Milligan’s Bryan Newbold recorded four saves on the day.

The Bulldogs will return to action when King (Tenn.) College visits Burch-Nau Field for a 4 p.m. AAC contest Sunday.
