WALESKA, Ga. - Union and host Reinhardt (Ga.) battled it out in a couple close contests Friday with the Bulldogs taking the opener 3-2 in 10 innings and the Eagles scoring a 4-2 victory in the second game.

Union now stands at 32-13 overall and 17-6 in conference play, while Reinhardt is 23-20 overall and 11-11 in the AAC.

The two squads will play a nine-inning game Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Bulldogs overcame an early deficit to pull out the 3-2, 10-inning battle.

Reinhardt grabbed the early advantage by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first. Billy King knocked in a run with a sac fly, and Jeremy Roberts slugged a solo home run for a 2-0 lead.

Union scored a run in the second and the third to tie the game at 2-2.

For the next six innings, no one scored. In the top of the 10th, Union pushed a run across for a 3-2 edge.

Jason Parsons (Hamilton, Ohio) collected his team-leading fourth save of the season. He gave up two hits but struck out two in sealing the one-run Bulldog victory.

Brandon Hedrick (Corbin, Ky.) improved to 9-0 on the year as he tossed nine innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts. This is the third time this season Hedrick fanned 10 or more batters.

Offensively, Hedrick went 3-for-4, while Steve Scheelk (Kansas City, Mo.) went 2-for-4 with a RBI and Troy Sitton (Cobden, Ill.) also drove in a run.

In the second game, Union overcame a two-run deficit again, but Reinhardt rallied for the 4-2 decision.

The Eagles drew first blood with two runs in the fourth. But Scheelk and Ben Hartley (Lexington, Ky.) each scored in the top of the fifth to even the ledger at 2-2.

Reinhardt, though, took the lead for good with a two-run sixth inning.

Adam Snyder (Knoxville, Tenn.) suffered the loss to drop to 5-3 on the year as he allowed four earned runs on six hits and no walks with eight strikeouts.

Scheelk finished 2-for-2 with a run scored with Hedrick going 2-for-3.
