BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College men's basketball program announced today the signing of Tommie Boyce to its 2010-11 roster.
A 5-foot-7 guard from Bowling Green, Ky., Boyce was a two year starter in high school, and helped lead the Purples to 77 wins in his three years on the varsity squad and two District-14 titles.
On Boyce's signing head coach Sean Gillespie commented, "I am very excited to have Tommie join the Bulldog family for next year. It doesn't take long to hang around this young man to realize that he is special."
"When he came into our open gym and competed with our guys he showed his competitive character. I don't think that we have had a recruit come in and dive on loose balls, take charges and get up into our returners defensively the way Tommie did.He had a very good career at Bowling Green High School and with his work ethic and passion for the game we know that he will have a solid collegiate career here."
