TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Union put on a show at the mountain biking races hosted by Florida State, posting six first-place finishes as well as numerous top-five finishes.

"It was one of our best weekends ever," said Union head coach Chuck Coffey. "Everyone performed well, and the results speak for themselves."

Of the eight races, Union had a rider win six and at least two in the top five.

Zach Winn (Port Hope, Canada) and Rachel Millsop (Little Rock, Ark.) posted identical results as Winn won the men's cross country, short track and time trial races and placed second in the four cross, while Millsop duplicated Winn's results in the women's races.

In the men's cross country, Union took the top four spots with Brad Nelson (Carmel, Ind.), Bennett Winn (Ontario, Canada) and Wes Lamberson (Limestone, Tenn.) followed Winn in second, third and fourth place. Union also took the top four places in the short track but with Zach Winn first, Lamberson second, Nelson third and Bennett Winn fourth.

Zach Winn was second in the four cross with Nelson taking third. In the time trials, it was all Union as the Bulldogs placed first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh. Zach Winn was first with Lamberson second, Nelson third, Bennett Winn fourth, German Bermudez (Louisville, Ky.) fifth, Sean Trinque (Pascoag, R.I.) sixth and Dirk Kostoff seventh.

In the women's races, Millsop won the cross country, short track and time trial while taking second in the four cross. Catherine Harnden (Ontario, Canada) placed fourth in the short track and time trial and third in the four cross. Maria Esswein (Perryville, Mo.) came in third in the time trial.

Union returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the Lees-McRae in Banner Elk, N.C.
