BEREA, Ky. - A pair of Bulldogs finished in the top 15 at the Berea (Ky.) College Invitational Saturday as the Union men's cross country team placed eighth and the women's squad took ninth.

Daniel Kual (Atlanta, Ga.) finished 14th with a time of 28:53, while teammate Eric Kinman (Erlanger, Ky.) was hot on his heels and crossed the line 15th in 28:55.

Joey Landrum (Elsmer, Ky.) was the next highest finisher for Union, coming in 39th in 30:59. Zak Walker (Barbourville, Ky.) completed the course in 33:03 for 57th place, and Bradley Fieldhouse (Louisville, Ky.) took 61st as he posted a time of 33:40.

In all, there were 78 runners and 10 teams in the men's race.

Cassy Kost (Owensboro, Ky.) led the Lady Bulldogs with a 31st-place finish with a time of 23:07. Lauren Johns (Stockbridge, Ga.) was next with a 65th-place showing as she completed the race in 25:31. Amanda Merida (Barbourville, Ky.) crossed the line in 25:38 to place 71st, Brittany Rutherford (Middlesboro, Ky.) posted a time of 27:50 for 78th, and Martika Wills (Clarksville, Tenn.) was 96th with a time of 33:03.

There were 100 runners and 11 teams in the women's race.

Union will next compete Oct. 2 at the Louisville (Ky.) Classic.
