MT. VERNON, Ohio - Union saw its record even out at 9-9 after dropping a pair of matches Friday at the Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped its first match to Union (Tenn.) 3-0, losing 25-21, 25-21, 25-13. Union then was swept by host Mount Vernon 25-15, 25-19, 25-13.

Union resumes play Saturday against Marian (Ind.) at 12 p.m. and Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) at 2 p.m.

Against Union (Tenn.), Amanda Silva (Londrina, Brazil) registered 24 digs, while Kalia Yasek (Kula, Hawaii) notched 15 assists with Monica Moreland (Louisville, Ky.) adding 14. Karina Ramos (Presidente, Brazil) hammered home six kills with Caity Merritt (Abingdon, Va.) contributing five kills.

Versus Mount Vernon, Silva posted 33 digs with Yasek and Moreland each posting 14 assists. Maddie Peterson (Soda Springs, Idaho) had eight kills, while Ramos, Amelia Cantrell (Georgetown, Ky.), Lauren McMillian (Corbin, Ky.) and Cat Neumann (Louisville, Ky.) each chipped in six kills.
