BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union senior Ashley Hall was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference's women's soccer player of the year on Thursday to highlight the list of Lady Bulldog award winners in the conference's end of the season award lists.

Hall (Hazard, Ky.) also was awarded with the conferences Golden Boot award, honoring the end of the season leading goal scorer in the league. Lady Bulldog goalie Patricia Nardy (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was named the AAC Co-Defensive player of the year, sharing the award with Heather Crimplen of Milligan.

Meanwhile, eight total Lady Bulldogs, who are 12-6 on the year, were named to the All-AAC teams, while  nine Union student-athletes were named to the conference's all-academic team.

Hall, who was also an All-AAC first team selection at forward, has scored a conference best 20 goals to earn the Golden Boot award for the second straight season. Hall has also recorded five game-winning goals and two assists on the year. Nardy, who was also a All-AAC first team pick at goalie, has recorded a 1.34 goals against average, making 107 saves, while recording five shutouts.

Hall and Nardy were joined on the All-AAC first team by midfielders Renata Peixoto (Brasilia, Brazil) and Jenn Sckirl (Edmonton, Canada). Peixoto, a senior, has recorded 25 points total on the year (nine goals and seven assists), while Sckril has scored four goals and recorded three assists to tally 11 points on the season.

On the All-AAC Second Team for Union are forward Stephanie Cagle (Independence, Ky.) and defender Jessica Brandner (Independence, Ky.). Cagle, a junior, tallied 13 points (five goals and three assists) on the season, while Brandner, a senior, helped the Lady Bulldog defensive unit give up just 0.98 goals per contest.

Rounding out the Union women's soccer players on the All-AAC teams are Heather Price (Bowling Green, Ky.) and Kristina Kirk (Versailles, Ky.), who earned third team accolades. Kirk, a junior defender,  made a start at the position in all 18 matches the Lady Bulldogs have played on the year, while Price, a freshman who is also a defender, made a start in 14 of the 16 matches she saw action in on the year.

The AAC also honored student-athletes for their work in the classroom by naming All-Academic teams. Nine Lady Bulldogs were named to this team in Kirk, Brandner, Hall, Sckril, Cagle, Olivia Brock (Hebron, Ky.), Nikki Jeck (Richmond, Ky.), Hannah Goins (Corbin, Ky.) and Casey Camargo (Lexington, Ky.).

Union returns to the pitch on Friday when they take on MIlligan in an AAC women's soccer tournament semifinal match. The contest, which will be played at Tennessee Wesleyan, will kickoff at 1:30 p.m.
