STERLING, Kan. -- The Union College men's basketball team defeated host Sterling College on Saturday night, 63-56 in the final game of the 2010 Warrior Classic.

With the win, Union improved to 3-4 on the year, while Sterling fell to 2-5 with the loss.

In the first half, Union went into the locker room with a 28-23 lead after holding Sterling to just 8-for-25 shooting from the floor in the period. In the second half, it was more of the same as Union opened a 54-45 lead with four minutes left and never looked back to record the victory.

The Union defense was stifling all night long, as the Warriors shot just 35 percent from the floor in the contest and 22 percent from the three point line. The Buldogs also forced 22 Sterling turnovers and scored 21 points off of those turnovers. Union also recorded 10 steals on the night.

Overall, Turrell Morris (Columbus, Ohio) led all Union scorers on the night once again, scoring 12 points and pulling down seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Vince Coleman (Columbus, Ohio) had 11 points and also had seven rebounds, while Cody Miller (Barbourville, Ky.) had 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
