WICHITA, Kan --
The Union men's basketball team dropped a 86-71 decision at Friends University on Monday night.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 3-5 on the year, while Friends improved to 2-5 with the win.
In the first half, Friends controlled things from the tip and rolled to a
45-23 lead in the period. Union went on an 11-2 run to close the
period, but Friends still held a comfortable 47-34 lead at the

built up in the half was too much of a deficit for the Bulldogs to come
back from, as Friends outscored the Bulldogs by two in the half
Union was led in the losing effort by Ian Davis
(Cherry Hill, N.J.), who scored a
team-high 20 points on a 6-for-9 shooting performance from the floor.
Davis also went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
Other top scorers on the night for the Bulldogs were Turrell Morris
(Columbus, Ohio), who recorded his fourth double-double in five games
with 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Payton Ponzer
(Independence, Ky.) came off the
bench and scored 12 points.
Friends was led by Chris Jackson, who scored a game-high 24 points.
