ADRIAN, Mich. - Brittany Gibson buried a 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds to play to left host Siena Heights (Mich.) to the 65-62 victory over Union on Friday in the SHU Thanksgiving Tournament.

The loss snaps the Lady Bulldogs' six-game win streak as they fall to 7-2 on the year. Union will face Spring Arbor (Mich.) on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the consolation game. Spring Arbor lost to Notre Dame (Ohio) College 65-51.

Siena Heights and Notre Dame College will play for the championship at 4 p.m.

Wendi Messer (Barbourville, Ky.) led Union with 12 points, while Laura Perkins (Myra, Ky.) and Courtney Thomas (Glasgow, Ky.) chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Union trailed 60-54 with 5:00 remaining but rallied to claim a two-point edge. Thomas buried a 3-pointer to pull the Lady Bulldogs within three, and an old-fashioned, three-point play by Amber Taylor (Clinton, Tenn.) tied the game at 60-60 with 3:58 to play. Kara Pile (Fairdale, Ky.) hit a pair of free throws at the 3:33 mark to give Union a 62-60 edge.

However, the Lady Bulldogs could not score another point the rest of the way, going 0-for-4 from the field.

Chandler Levit hit 1-of-2 free throws to pull the Saints within 62-61 with 1:42 on the clock. Brooke Haines pulled the Saints even at 62-62 as she went 1-for-2 at the line with 1:01 to go.

A Lady Bulldog turnover gave the Saints the ball with 45 seconds left. Gibson missed a 3-point attempt, but Siena Heights got the rebound and called a timeout with 14 seconds to play. Gibson set up for another long-range shot from the right wing and buried it with 2.8 seconds remaining, lifting the Saints to a 65-62 advantage.

Pile heaved a half-court shot at the buzzer, but it came up short as Siena Heights came away with the three-point win.

Shalaha Hubbard paced the Saints with 12 points, while Haines and She'Meika Nicholson each had 10.

Siena Heights dominated the glass, outrebounding Union 47-39.
