BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's soccer coach Juliana Filipe added another midfielder to the 2007 roster as Katarina Sprunk of Port Charlotte, Fla., recently committed to play for the Lady Bulldogs.

"I am pleased to be able to bring Katarina into our program," said Filipe. "She is a versatile player and really appears to be a team player."

Sprunk, who spent last season at a community college in Florida, played for and graduated from Charlotte (Fla.) High.

"I'm really excited to play for Union, and hopefully I'll bring a lot to the team," Sprunk said. "I hope to play somewhere in the midfield, but I'll play where ever coach needs me to play. I just hope to make a positive contribution to the team."

The Lady Bulldogs finished the 2006 season 6-13 overall and 3-5 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
