WILMORE, Ky. -- Union's Turrell Morris led all scorers with 25 points, as the Bulldogs routed Greenville College, 97-75 on Saturday afternoon. The game, played at Asbury University, was part of the 2010 Cecil C. Zweifel Classic.

With the victory, Union improved to 6-7 on the year, while Greenville fell to 5-3 with the loss.

In the first half, Greenville came quick out of the gate and held a double-digit lead at several points in the half. The Bulldogs, however, closed the half strong, going on an 24-5 run over the final five minutes of the period to take a 43-35 lead going into intermission. The run at the end of the half was capped by a Payton Ponzer (Independence, Ky.) three-pointer with 16 seconds left that gave Union the eight point lead.

It was more of the same in the second half, as the Bulldogs eventually extended the lead out to 13 (52-39) three minutes into the period and never looked back. Greenville couldn't close the gap very much after that point, as the Bulldogs controlled the tempo throughout the second period to take the convincing victory.

Overall, the entire starting five for Union had double-digit scoring afternoons. Morris (Columbus, Ohio) led the way with his 25, but also pulled down 10 rebounds to record his eighth double-double of the season. He also blocked five shots on the day and made two steals.

Meanwhile, Ponzer and Ryan Young (Waynesburg, Ky.) each scored 16 points. Ponzer also dished out seven assists, while Young recorded five assists. Cody Miller (Barbourville, Ky.) and Ian Davis (Cherry Hill, N.J.) rounded out the double-digit scorers, scoring 15 points and pulling down six rebounds, apiece. Miller and Davis each had five assists on the day as well.

Union was aided in the win by an impressive shooting performance, ending the day shooting 65.6% from the field. Greenville was led in the losing effort by Obinna Agomo, who had 14 points.

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to Alice Lloyd. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
