EAST RIDGE, Tenn. – The Union College women’s soccer team, the No. 5 seed, was shut out 2-0 and eliminated from the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament in a semifinal contest against King (Tenn.) College, the top seed, Friday at Osborne Stadium in East Ridge, Tenn.

The Lady Bulldogs move to 7-8-2 on the season while King is now 14-3-1. King also moves on to the AAC Tournament Championship on Saturday to play the winner of the Covenant (Ga.) College and Tennessee Wesleyan College contest.

The first King goal came in the 17th minute when Emma Wells booted home a free kick. Laura Kilgus added another King score at the 63 minute mark.

In goal for Union, Briann Bargo (Somerset, Ky.) recorded ten saves. The Lady Bulldogs only attempted three shots, all on goal, while King had 12 shots on goal.

The Lady Bulldogs will wait to see if they will receive an at-large bid for the NAIA Region XII Tournament next week.
