BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union is the fourth-seeded team in the 2011 Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Tournament and will play host to No. 5 seed Bluefield (Va.) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs are 13-15 overall and 7-7 in conference play, while the Rams are 11-17 overall and 6-8 in the AAC. Bluefield won both meetings over Union this season.
The other first round matchups include No. 8 seed Montreat (N.C.) (8-20 overall, 3-11 AAC) playing at No. 1 seed Milligan (Tenn.) (16-11 overall, 12-2 AAC), No. 7 seed Tennessee Wesleyan (11-19 overall, 4-10 AAC) playing at No. 2 seed Bryan (Tenn.) (21-8 overall, 11-3 AAC), and No. 6 seed Virginia Intermont (10-19 overall, 4-10 AAC) playing at No. 3 seed Reinhardt (Ga.) (14-14 overall, 9-5 AAC).
All of the first-round games will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m.The semifinal round is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. with the championship game set for Monday, February 28, at 7 p.m. The final two rounds will be at the home of the highest seed remaining following the opening round.
