DANVILLE, Ky. -- The Union College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Centre College Invitational on Saturday afternoon, with the men's team finishing 7th and the women's team placing 13th overall.

For the men, Union was once again led by freshman sprinter Jaquan Holland, who captured both the 100 and 200 meter dashes for the second straight week at a meet. In the 100m, Holland crossed the finish line in 10.94 seconds and in the 200m finished in 22.28.

The other top finishers on the day for Union were Andrew Johnston, who placed second in the pole vault with a clearance of 12 feet, 11.50 inches, and John Luther,  who placed third in the shot put with a mark of 45 feet, 9.75 inches, which was a new school record in the event.

In other action for the men, Eric Kinman placed third in the 10,000m run with a time of 34:59.40, while Steven Carron was sixth in the 400m dash, crossing the finish line in 50.73. The last performance of note on the day for the Bulldogs was recorded by Issac Kangogo, who finished 10th in the 5000m run with a time of 16:33.80.

On the women's side, the best performance of the day was recorded by senior Maddie Peterson, who placed seventh in the discus with a throw of 107 feet, four inches.

In track events, Naudine Coulson finished ninth in both the 100m and 200m dashes, finishing with a time of 13.20 in the 100m and 27.58 in the 200m. The last performance of note on the day for the Lady Bulldogs was recorded by Lavin Hadley in the 400m dash, where she finished 14th in 1:05.66.

Union returns to the track on April 9th when they take part in the University of the Cumberlands Invitational.
