BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union head bowling coach Brad Piper announced the addition of Travis DeWitt of Rogersville, Tenn., who recently signed a letter of intent to bowl with the Bulldogs next season.

"I am excited to have Travis join our program," said Piper. "He is a quality bowler, and I have no doubt he will fast become an asset to our program."

A senior at Cherokee (Tenn.) High, DeWitt has been a member of the USBC Youth of Tennessee since 1999. His current average score is 198 with a high score of 288. DeWitt's high series score is 725.

At the 2010 Tennessee Junior Gold Qualifying Tournament, he ranked second in the scratch tournament. DeWitt also placed fifth with a score of 1,156 at the 2010 Tennessee Top 5 Tournament Division 3 Finals.

DeWitt is the captain of the Cherokee High bowling team, and he served as the USBC Youth Board Region/District 3 Representative in 2008-09 and 2009-10.

In addition to bowling in high school, DeWitt also played football, basketball and wrestled.
