BARBOURVILLE, Ky. --
Union College head men's basketball coach Sean Gillespie
has announced that Tyler Wagner, a product of Lynn Camp High School, has signed a letter of intent to join the Bulldog program this fall.
"We are always pleased when we get the opportunity to sign local talent to our program," said Gillespie. "We firmly believe that Tyler will have a great career here at Union College. He has made a lot of progress over the last year, both on and off the court. We are getting a skilled ‘big' man that can handle the ball, knock shots down and that is still growing.
"There is still a lot of upside to Tyler's game and we are looking forward to having him with us now over the next 4 years."
Wagner, a 6-6, 215 pound center, comes to Union after a banner senior season at Lynn Camp, where he was named the Tri-County Player of the Year after averaging 24.8 points per game and 13.1 boards per game, with 22 double-doubles.
During the year, Wagner had three 40 point games and a 20 point, 20 rebound performance. He finished the year leading the state of Kentucky in free throws attempted (205) and made (265), and was third in the state in charges taken (16). Also, Wagner's per game totals in points and rebounds per game were the fourth best marks in the state in each category.
Wagner ended his career scoring 1,541 career points.
